I had a goldfish for about a year that actually died yesterday. I was really attached to it, even though he was just a little fish. I am sad to see him go, but he was sick and I'm sure he's happier now.
Do you guys get easily attached to little things?
Thanks for visiting! Here's the link to the original sketch I posted on Twitter:

I'm sorry to hear about your fish :(
ReplyDeleteI overheard a couple little girls today talking about their recently deceased fish. According to them and all their cuteness, "if you feed a fish too much it will die." They were happy at the time with their new fish tho!
But I digress...this is a lovely illustration! Great for the topic :)
Aww so cute - at least they are on the right track! Goldfish pretend like they are starving all the time so it's easy to overfeed them. Smart little girls!
DeleteThank you for the compliment :) I really appreciate it.
Sorry to hear about your little friend. I get so easily attached to friendly little critters too. Love the illustration - Long live the memory of the goldfish, I hope it shines on!
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets attached to little things like fish. Thank you for your comment, it makes me feel better! :)
DeleteA very lovely piece. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori!
DeleteI hope the toilet-bowl eulogy was as beautiful as this picture.
ReplyDeleteHaha unfortunately not so much... thank you though.
DeleteHi Miranda. Beautiful illustration.
ReplyDeleteyes, I feel attached to small things without sense, for example, a pencil, which allowed me to draw, when it is so short that I can not grasp my hand, I keep but do not throw in the trash ;)
Haha I really like that Roberto - it's little things like that that end up meaning so much to us! I hope you can keep your pencil for a long time :)
DeleteAww, sorry about your fish! I do get attached to little things as well.
ReplyDeleteVery sad but lovely drawing.
Thank you Gillesse for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
DeleteSuch a beautiful illustration. The golden colours are so delicate on the grey background. He looks like he's floating to fish heaven.
ReplyDeleteI hope he is floating to fish heaven :) I'm glad you like the colors, it was hard to subdue them and keep them from taking over, if that makes sense. Thanks for stopping by Claire!
DeleteIt's hard not to get attached to living things. What a beautiful illustration...obviously inspired by your affection for your poor fishy :(
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you feel the same way as me about living things. He was just a fish, but I'll still miss him. Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by!
DeleteBeautiful illustration! Really sorry to know about your lil friend! May the memories stay forever shiny!small small happiness brings meaning to a life!!!
ReplyDeleteI currently share my home with several small creatures, including a turtle that I've had for over 20 yrs - I am definitely attached, to say the least, & not ashamed to say it! All wonderful in their own way. I'm sorry about your fish. You've created a beautiful tribute.
ReplyDeletegold miranda
